在 1521年葡萄牙的探险家麦哲伦就在这个位置种下了十字架(当时为了此而建了此凉亭),人们也相信这里是第一位菲律宾在此受洗礼.这个十字架也传说有超自然的力量因此这个凉亭总是被群众所包围膜拜,在此凉 亭上方天花板上的图片说明当时为菲律宾人洗礼的故事.
